What are the reasons that a movie or series based on a game would bomb, and how would you make it successful?

Woke culture is counter productive since it creates the issues it seeks to "fix".

as someone who agrees with a lot of the general ideas of 'wokeness' i would say i agree in a way. but the issue is that 'wokeness' comes as a side effect of people becoming aware of societal problems, which is a good thing and something we all should do, but then choosing to react to that in ways that are often as you say counterproductive to actually fixing those problems.

i think you could pretty easily toss in some diversity and include some of that in the characterization, i disagree that it fundamentally alters anything. but the bigger issue is that because it doesn't fundamentally alter anything, a) it's not going to improve the script if it's shitty or the acting or directing and b) what's the point of throwing in the token wokeness if it's not central to the characterization? like sure i can change a character's race, sex, sexual preference, whatever, and that's fine if you're dealing with a fairly homogeneous casting, but what's it doing for the actual story? if you can write it to actually matter to the characters in a believable way that's a plus, if not it just doesn't do much.
