What are some of the best “what if” questions of life?

What if the entirety of reason (logic, scientific method, deduction) is wrong? Think about it for a moment. I’m not anti science or anything (I consider myself to be very rational) but it occurred to me that humans came up with this form of thinking and it has served us well so far. Yet there are some glaring questions that seem like we’re never going to be able satisfy before our species becomes extinct. Namely, why does any of this (the universe) exist? Or just how big is it? We have literally no idea. The way we evolved got us to this point so far, but we are limited by our biology. We create machines that can compute things by an order of a gazillion times faster than us. Isn’t that proof enough that there are some facts out of our reach? Like NDT once said (paraphrasing) “maybe we’re too dumb for aliens to talk to us”.

This “what if” scares me and I’m not trying to promote it. I’d like to think humanity can overcome anything but I also know we have limits.
