What are some examples of WWE trying to rewrite history?

I don't feel like reading all that. I disagree with the gist of the bits that I skimmed, but that is of no import at all. I am sorry to see that my not wanting to discuss wrestling with you bothers you so much. I do believe everything that I said, both the subjective and objective statements, but I do not have more to say about this.

We do not have to agree. It is no big deal. It's just wrestling. I genuinely regret causing you so much mental anguish and bitter anger over such an unserious pastime. I have been watching since 89 and I have seen many silly things, but none of it is worth feeling so harshly about or causing one so much consternation.

It was a bad part in my call to engage in this conversation and I do not wish to make you more unhappy. You are entitled to your opinion, and I hope that you feel all right soon. I did not expect that I would cause such a degree of vehemence on your part.

I would still suggest that you read what Bret and Meltzer said about Montreal. Bret was actually calling Meltzer for info that he was not privy to and was grateful to Meltzer for giving a more clear lay of the land and for ultimately publishing a version employing information that Bret gave him. Many things about the screwjob do not match the WWE's narrative. For one, they had sued WCW for showing Madusa's belt and a court ruled that a belt was intellectual property and could not be employed in that manner. Turner lawyers would not have allowed that risk. Nevertheless, Bret's book and Meltzer's write up are interesting and enjoyably documents. You would probably really derive pleasure from reading them.

My assumption is that you were too young to be around when this stuff happened. That's cool. Young fans are the lifeblood of the industry and it would die without them. I would just suggest reading non-wwe sources from time to time, if you want to get a more complete picture of stuff you weren't there for.

Either way, I wish you well. I also hope that I have not caused more mental anguish or further contributed to your anger and frustrastion with this message. Wresling is not worth tormenting yourself over, and being bothered by what people say online is not the most healthy thing and best avoided. So, in order to cease giving you a cause for frustration, I will simply say "be well".
