When I had first moved to the UK, I had a mate who would come over to my house every day, after like 6 months he was part of my family. My parents fed him and bought him his school uniform and all those sorts of things. His mum didn't like me or my family because she didn't like Muslims, she also had a drinking problem and her children would go without things so she could buy alcohol even though she had a proper job.

Our kitchen was getting redone so he and I went to his house, and his mum ordered a pizza for dinner. When it came I waited for their family to all get and then I took a slice and she said 'that's for OUR family, can't you go get some Muslim food?' (cheese, bread and tomatoes is halaal by the way)

So I put it down and left the flat, my mate chased after me with the pizza and he was like 'I'm so sorry, please take it' and I told him that it wasn't about the pizza, it was that my family gladly treats him like family but his mum is so cheap and hateful that she complains about me having a piece of pizza?

We hung out a few times afterward but it was awkward and we grew apart.
