What is a common misconception people have about your occupation?

I'm an Office Manager and people always assume that I do what our firm does (design work). Uh no. I said I'm an Office Manager, not a designer. I do all the boring shit. The most annoying part is when vendors show up to our office to drop off catalogs or samples of their products, which is completely fine and part of the job, but they start to pitch me on the products. Even after I tell them I'm the office manager and that I'll leave the samples for the designers to look at. They start their whole schpeal and it's so fucking annoying. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day, I politely (sort of) cut them off and remind them that I'm not a designer, but I'll leave the material for the designers to look at. For fuck sake, I'm not going to repeat everything you just told me about these products to the designers. If you want to present your products, then schedule a fucking presentation with me, don't give me the presentation right there in the lobby of our office. It's in one ear and out the other.
