What does “second girlfriend” mean?

I've been that guy. I get it, I wish I were better at that age. I pulled the exact same shit. The person I pulled that BS with is still a great friend of mine 15 years later! I was a bit sad for 2 weeks. In the grand scheme of things..., COOL!

The best, but very difficult thing for you to do is to set a clear boundary. "I like you as a friend" is a classic for a reason. He'll be upset, if he really enjoys you as a friend and not a backup relationship option, he'll get over it.

If you have feelings for him as well that go beyond friendship, then go for it. You may get the same "I like you as a friend" response. It may be awkward, or feel terrible, but I promise you, the worst thing you can do is be too afraid to speak up.

It might go horribly. If it does, it's not the end of the world. But what do you want?
