I have the perfect story for this!!!
I had a 1983 Toyota pickup truck that was rusted to shit. I had a CB antennae on top and one day my friends and I bought a styrofoam manaquin head and slid it down to the base of the antennae and put a bunch of nails in it's head like Hellraiser. I would drive it to school and it caused some attention. The next thing we did was take an old mop and drew a face on it like Wilson from CastAway and we drove the mop handle into the split tailgate so it stuck straight up and smiled at everyone behind me. This caused more attention within the school. The next thing is what got me in trouble with the school. We went to CiCi's pizza and played the Claw game where you fish for assorted plushies. We won a surfer doll, who had bright blonde hair the stood straight up on its head, sunglasses, and a surfboard clutched beneath his arm and he was Caucasian. We tied the doll behind the truck to "see how long it would last". The next week at school I got escorted out of my classroom and brought to the principals office by the schools county sheriff, who was black. He knew me from prior engagements and was yelling at me how I was in a world of trouble. This happened a few years after the Jasper, TX incident where they dragged that poor fellow through the streets. Well, the streets in my town were black and the doll was turned black from being dragged behind my truck for a week.
The school was suspending me for the day, told me to remove all 'distractions' from my truck and gave me a week of in school suspension and said I was portraying a hate crime. They had the doll in the room and I argued how the street turned it black, how he had blonde hair and was holding a surfboard and no way they can claim that it was a 'black' doll.
My father was pissed at the school. He appealed the school's punishment and we met with both principals and the sheriff the next day. They explained to my dad that my truck had become "A distraction to learning" and my father argued - "If his truck was hot pink would that be a distraction to learning" which they responded yes. That night my dad let me spray paint the truck Hot Pink. Proof
