What is it like to successfully get with your crush?

I had an insane crush on a girl a few years back and asked her out. She said yes. We went on two dates before she dumped me, but I just had 0 chemistry with her, so I didn't care much. The crush stage has you building up this grand idea of a person in your head, but I remember she was so... so... boring. My other female friends have described it as "pretty girl syndrome" where she didn't really need to have a personality or hobbies because... well.. she was pretty! That's all she needed to define herself. So, I'd say it was a good experience to at least land a couple of dates, but an insanely valuable lesson to learn that they're most likely not the person you built up in your head.
