Put yourself on their radar. Secondly no one is flawless, you're putting them on a pedestal and taking them outside of your reach. They're not, because you've not even spoken to them yet. You're going to get women rejecting you for whatever reason, It doesn't really matter why. But if you don't try, you've rejected yourself, to avoid a few rejections.
Lastly, you can be that guy, but you've got to better yourself first. If you don't love yourself, which if you're putting most women on a pedestal and you're removing yourself from even being noticed, you don't. You can't complain as if it is the woman's fault.

Get yourself into a routine of working out (Even if you do now, pick days, decide what you're going to do and stick to it) Keep your fingernails, eyebrows, toenails, pubes, trimmed and neat (Pick a day per week/fortnight to always double check and do it) If you've got yellowish teeth try some teeth whitening from Crest or a similar brand.
What you're trying to do is be aware of the effort you put in and be aware of your body. Every little thing you do makes you aware of your body (lifting weights, perfects your form) and being aware of your body is important for improving body language. You want to limit as much insecurity being shown in the way you hold yourself as possible.
Be charming, people will say (including girls) that girls like funny guys. But they don't. They like guys that include them in the joke, sort of teasing, not negging, you don't want to play too hard on insecurities, you want them to feel noticed and you want them to be in on the joke. (It is the anticipation of the punchline) It is very much like standup comedy. Everyone can learn a joke and a punch line and tell a great joke, badly. But you want to be able to tell an average joke, greatly.
Work on telling your stories, if you tell a boring story or a great story boringly, the girl will be bored before the punchline (if you had one).
