Every birthday the same thing, my grand parents asked my parents if I wanted a gift and I generally asked for things labeled as boy stuff (I'm a girl) like a big crane or cool looking video games. Some gave me video gamed that were more suiting of a girl and some gave me stuff like Barbies or princess skirts. My grandmother said it was a shame I was growing up like this as "no one will ever want a boyish thing as their wife" and it hurt like hell because my mother spent my birthday arguing with her and crying as this sentence got caught on tape (my father had a camera).

I wish I could digitalize this tape that's hidden somewhere and show her this in front of everyone now that I'm an adult.
