What is the most infuriating case of double standards you've come across?

Associations vs slavery (hang on...)

If you work without getting paid but get basic food, lodging and clothes you are a slave.

If you work without getting paid and don't get anything from it, you are probably a board member of an association.

Now, the comparison is skewed as you are free to leave the board, or maybe not, as peer pressure is fierce when people try to leave, considering no new (sane) person would want to join the board.

And you probably don't work as much, which might be true, but the leader of the association is likely an choleric manipulative despot (what's otherwise the gain of being leader without getting paid), so you will surely work anyway, and not because you want to.

I know, it's still not a fair comparison, as a board member is likely already well-off financially, but I did it anyway, so there. Shoot me.
