What non-sexual thing are you in the closet about?

I read your post and it reminded me of some advice I read on Reddit once.

Your plan is to enjoy life by indulging in sense pleasures?

Sensual pleasures are insatiable and fleeting; therefore, your satisfaction in any given moment will be temporary. Overt time, as your cravings become stronger, you'll spend more time striving to be content than actually being content.

Why choose to make your happiness dependent on that which is fleeting? Why not choose contentment itself?

This body and life may be temporary, but you sentence yourself to hell here and now by looking for heaven in unwholesome things"

I'm 8 months clean from being a daily smoker and deep into the weed lifestyle. I won't ramble any more, but true happiness is out there. You've already acknowledged a problem and now you have two choices; keep doing what you're doing and get the same results, or try something different and get different results. (I just noticed you said you're quitting, it will get easier and the joy will come back, keep at it. The hardest part is the beginning, the second hardest part is sticking with it. Don't give up!)

For context: Buddhist teachings explain that there are two kinds of happiness; one is an ordinary, fleeting and unreliable happiness which is based on physical comfort and feeling good about outer circumstances (like smoking pot). The other is a deep and lasting happiness which comes from within.
