thinking they're more attractive than they actually are.

for example, there were times i was essentially asked to jump through hoops, (ex: why do you take so long to respond, why do you never want to come see me at [far location], etc. - i'm a corporate lawyer, i work a lot) by someone that i enjoyed being around enough to see where things would go but, she wasn't hot enough to justify putting in so much effort in the beginning.

if she were like Gigi Hadid hot, yeah, i'd ride a train across the bay, hop on another train, Uber, whatever...or dare i say, even drive. but, if you're just a slightly above average chick, to above average chick, it's just not worth it to put up with.
