It really, really failed if you take into context that its been on sale for ridiculous prices almost right off the bat. (To my knowledge: Target Buy 2, Get 1, Black Friday, PS+ sales and then a recent markdown) With all things being equal, Titanfall 2 should have crushed Titanfall 1 in sales.

Not every game needs a sequel. There wasn't any demand for Titanfall 2. A lot of my friends were lukewarm on the beta and you have a mix of gamers somewhat burnt out on Destiny and another mix of gamers for obviously just played COD that went Sci Fi. Most parents aren't going to buy their kids the game they haven't heard of when its being sold next to 2 games they have. COD and Battlefield is like Blizzard or Magic the Gathering - they are so big that they just inhale most competition because they are so big.

So you have a small group of people who adored the first game and a small group of people on Playstation who took the leap of faith based on metacritic reviews and hearing that it had a good campaign. Thats probably all that should have been expected.
