What is the scariest/creepiest thing that has happened to you when you were home alone?

I was 11 years old. It was a school day and my dad had left early, so I decided to skip school like a true delinquent. Around 10:30am I was woken up by a loud bang coming from below my bedroom, which was the front door. I jumped out of bed assuming it was a friend trying to mess with me who went too far. The door was completely kicked in. I ran to my neighbor a few townhomes down where I knew my brother and friends who might've done it were and asked who did it. They were baffled. My brother's spidey sense went off and we stupidly ran back while my friends mother called 911. We noticed an adult size boot print on the door. We searched the whole house. No one there and nothing missing or out of place.

As we were coming downstairs to leave, assuming we we had scared the person off, we were instead suddenly face to face with the intruder. He was as stunned as we were as he was walking back inside. We demanded to know who the hell he was and he said he was a friend of our dad. We asked what his name was and he knew it. So we asked what kind of friend kicks in someone's door, runs off, and comes back? No response. Then we asked what his name was and he took off running. We chased but they were too fast for me.

They ran about 300 feet and the guy jumped into the passenger seat of a waiting car that took off. We never found out what this may have been about exactly, but we have theories. My father is very reluctant to say anything or speculate much, which isn't like him. It's a very mysterious incident in our lives.

What's more wild? My brother asked me if I remembered it happening some 15 years after the incident. It was gone. And it came flooding back. It was such a strange feeling, I froze, had chills, and a distinct feeling like having knowledge artificially implanted in my mind - like I imagine how it will feel to attain new knowledge via a device like Neuralink. It makes me wonder what other trauma I've forgotten, but I already remember too many insane incidents. Just calm from now on, please!
