What is the scariest thing you have ever experienced?

When I was 14, Christmas Eve, I woke up around 6:00 ish in the morning on the couch at my grandpa's house. He was asleep on the chair the night before, where he slept to be better situated with his oxygen tank. When I woke up, he wasn't in his chair. I had earbuds in to fall asleep to rather than the show he was watching, so I just assumed he went to the bathroom. My aunt and uncle and young cousin had gotten there around 4 in the morning, and just this time (randomly) we decided I would take the couch, and my cousin would join my mom in his bedroom (across the house from this bathroom) and my aunt and uncle would take the spare room. When he didn't come back to his chair and it became near 6:20, I got up to make sure he was okay, and I had this feeling. I checked everywhere, and I thought my aunt had left a pile of clothes on the bathroom floor (which they always did), but when I turned the light on, it was my grandpa. I had to wake my mom up and that's how everyone found out when he passed. The scariest part was how my mom didnt speak to me for three days, I thought I lost two people that night.
