What side jobs do you do to get extra money?

I have a few jobs, and life is pretty wonderful because all these jobs are different and give me a chance to enjoy the time I do work while not feeling stuck in a boring rhythm.

My best side job, and this may work for some, and not for others, is being a live-in caregiver. In most cases you don't have to have certification, but it helps if you do. My job is to be home every night by 8pm to give medication, and simply turn off the tv once she falls asleep. I am paid around $750 if I stay every single night every two weeks. I always have the option to schedule off one or two nights a week if I wish to go out or stay with family, and I still get free rent, wifi, water, heat. It's a great way to save money, especially if you don't mind having no life for a few years to pay off school loans or whatnot. I would recommend that people only do this job if they can not only handle living with someone with a disability, but also feel an inclination towards helping others. There are many people out there that need help and as long as you're a trustworthy, cleanly, responsible person, it could work for you.

Secondly, I walk around the university campus, and especially the Psychology and Engineering departments to find any studies that you can get paid for. I recently was paid to take part in a psychology study where they tested my perception and cognitive abilities for four time in two weeks and was paid $60. Another one I was a part of recently was a bus survey group for the Engineering department. We are paid $12 an hour to ride buses and gather information on passengers' origins and destinations.

On top of my 7:45am-4:30pm job Monday thru Friday, I sleep in on Saturday mornings til around 10, and delivery drive in the afternoon for a local food joint, and Sundays are my day off.

There really are tons of opportunities out there, you just have to find them!
