What is something about the future that terrifies you?

Our entire existence as a species will change as we know it.

There is rampant greed and corruption in every major government and corporation who's job is to maintain the status quo and keep a profit while doing it.

There are terrible trade deals about to happen which when it comes do dealing with monopolies and big business will render our government, by the people and for the people, useless.

We can't look at what's in inside the 30,000 page deal until 4 years after its passed for the TPP. In Europe for the TTIP they can't see it for 30 years after its passed. What the fuck.

Now for more long term but maybe not as long as we think, robots and automation. I work in manufacturing and there aren't very many jobs that a robot couldn't do. South Korea built the first automated car plant with no human laborers.

At my plant there are 3200 people. If that were done here our whole city would be way worse off and you would see another huge migration away from our state. Now nationally. I can't even think about what would happen. Fast food jobs, manufacturing being the big ones.

Our corporate government would never make basic income a reality. And being a largely capitalist society they just need to pick themselves up by their bootstraps. So there would be no offset when this happens.

When this happens and people realize that our government isn't for us what are we going to do about it? Overthrow the government? Lol! Drones baby. Surveillance drones, bomber drones. It's not even about turning the military against us to stop a coup. They just need a few thousand people manning the drones. Who knows if they could say that we are Taliban or ISIS and pretend they are flying in Libya. They might not know.

I'm not saying this is all going to happen but I feel like there is a buildup to something. Seeing how the fbi responded to the 99% and wallstreet/occupy protests is pretty terrifying. Plans to assassinate leaders, undercover cops planting drugs/weapons inciting violence. And that was for a peaceful protest. What's going to happen when people are pissed off?

To me the future looks bleak. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist but I believe that in the next 100 years but possibly sooner this could happen.
