What is something you can't believe you got away with?

This is probably gonna get buried, but I was kind of proud of it for a long time because it was one of the very few "rebellious" things I ever did as a teenager.

During my freshman year of high school, I took Algebra II. Math is not my strong suit at all, so I was struggling to get a C. Now, my high school had a system that year where everyone had a free period/lunch at the same time for an hour long period in the middle of the day, but if your grade in a class was below a certain average, you had to be assigned to tutoring for half of the period. If you skipped tutoring, you'd be sent to detention for the entire free period.

This would have been all fine and well, except that about 3/4 of my Algebra II class plus a lot of kids from the teacher's other classes were often in that tutoring bell. This teacher was a sweet lady who would always try her hardest to help you out in math, but there were so many kids that needed her help that it was hard to get enough individual assistance. Because I was actually one of the stronger students in the tutoring bell (as in well above failing), she sent me and some of the others to another teacher for help. This was an improvement, but still not much better because this teacher was often very busy helping out his own classes. Because I wasn't getting the help I needed, I decided to just skip tutoring altogether and go hang out with my friends for the entire lunch bell.

This carried on for about a month or so until one day, at the end of second period, the daily announcements came on. During this time, the list of students assigned to detention was also announced. My name was called. Surely, I'd been caught. At the end of the period, I began walking down to the detention room when I ran into my Algebra II teacher. My heart stopped in my chest. I was always the goody-goody type who had never been in serious trouble, so I was terrified of getting chewed out. As sweet as this teacher was most of the time, she was also an extreme stickler for school rules. We had an exchange that went like this:

Teacher: "I heard your name called for detention. You're not usually one to get in trouble and besides my class, you've got straight A's, right? What on Earth did you get called for?"

Me (slightly confused): "The only thing I can think of is not going to your tutoring class."

Teacher: "That can't be it. I've been sending you to (other math teacher)'s tutoring bell, so as long as you've been going there you should be fine. I'd check with whoever's running detention today. It could have been a mistake."

She walked away, and I continued to the detention room. I spoke with the vice principal, and sure enough, it was a typo on the list. The person who was actually supposed to report to detention in my place was someone with the same first name and a very similar last name to me. I'd just dodged a huge bullet.

For the rest of that day, 15-year-old me felt like a total badass, and for the rest of that year, I ultimately continued to skip tutoring until the end of the year (not because I got caught, but because I needed to study for the exam). I finished off the year with a B in the class.

Tl;dr: Skipped a mandatory tutoring bell, for which the punishment would have been detention. Eventually called in for detention, ran into the teacher who would have assigned it. Teacher thought I was going to a different teacher's class for tutoring, turns out my name on the detention list was just a typo. Continued to skip tutoring for the rest of the year, still somehow got a B in the class.
