What is something I'm better off not knowing?

Something similar happened to me. There was this blonde girl who I flirted with a bit in chemistry class in college. She was struggling and I offered to help. This was in a community college no less. Where you can pass chemistry while sleeping. But she was struggling.

Being the naive youngster I was, I made her drive to my parents' house (where I was staying), some 30 miles away. Like a good little autist, I drew her a good map, describing in detail a detour she had to take because a couple bridges were out.

So I help her with her homework, pretty much guaranteeing her an A, and then we just kind of started chatting, and then she laid down on my floor (which I figured out years later was a seductive pose). She kind of looked up at me but didn't say much. I took this as a sign she was bored, and maybe we should do something.

So I suggested we go down to my dad's butcher shop so I could show her around. That's right, I suggested to a 9/10 grill that we have a tour of my dad's butcher shop.

She tagged along, I gave her a tour, showed her the kill-floor, walked her in the cooler with all the beef carcasses, explaining in detail the butchering process.

Hell even my dad tried to help me out by asking, "who is this gorgeous thing you have with you today?"

autist me: "Oh I helped her with her Chemistry and just showing her around the shop."

After we got back home, more awkward silence and then I suggest "well I guess that's it, I hope you have a safe trip home."

sigh She was still really friendly in class and were partners on projects, etc, and I helped her with homework in class as well, but she didn't ask for help outside of class after that.
