What is something you're great at, but no one expects you to be when they meet you?

I suppose I come across as a somewhat unrefined person. Nevertheless, I can cook. I can cook the shit out of all kinds of things. My aunt taught me to cook. She taught me a lot about improvising in the kitchen, but she also taught me a lot about cooking more sophisticated and refined dishes.

When people meet me I might come off as a person with simple tastes. I drink cheap beer and I like greasy food like White Castle. I talk about nachos a lot.

Sometimes I meet foodie assholes who talk about how refined their tastes are and I want to barf in my mouth a little. Not because I don't respect their love for food, but because I abhor the way they turn food into a snobbish affair. It becomes less about enjoyment, and more about feeling sophisticated and superior.

I can cook delicious food, I just don't get pretentious about it. For me, food is just something you enjoy, be it a greasy burger or a three star Michelin restaurant. It's all good. If it makes you happy, it's good food.

Anyhow... Yeah, a lot of people don't think I know anything about food, but I know a lot more than they think.
