What ways have you tried to learn japanese?

Fun to learn

I learned some vocabulary fast

Encourages you to learn (via tournaments to see how much exp you can gain)

Free

You can invite friends to play (if applicable)

Downs:

Wont teach you every kanji

I don’t know how to write any of the kanji

It will only teach you how to speak and less on the reading

Translate manga

So I have manga but I couldn’t find all the translated chapters online so I translated a chapter myself

Ups:

Can be fun to try to get what the characters are saying

You learn how some people in Japan speak

You can memorize some kanji (becuase the I encounter the same kanji in some pages)

It’s fun

Downs:

A lot of hard work to try to translate what the characters are saying

Really exhausting

Need determination

This is what my translation notes look like:

勝木さん ありがとうございます!

勝木さん - Katsuki-san

ありがとうございます - Thank you very much!

あなたのおかげで 戦えました

We were able to battle because of you!

あなた - You

の - indicates possessive

おかげ - grace, assistance, effects

で - at, when, with

戦 - war, battle 単 - simple 戈 - halberd, arms, float

何言ってるんだ まだまだ これからだろ

What are you taking about? You are near your goal already

何 - what

言って (いって) - To say

のです - the expectation is that

まだまだ - not yet! (still some way to go before the goal)

これ - this

から - from, by, because, out of, through, after

だろ - be, is, has, has, have, please

共に 全国めざして…

Let’s all aim for the whole country

共に (ともに) - together, both

全国 (ぜんこく) - the whole country

めざして - to aim at, to have an eye on

つーちゃん そろそろメ切りが やばいわ…

Tsu-chan, you better slow down, it’s getting dangerous

つーちゃん - Tsu-chan

そろそろ - slowly, quietly, soon

切り - to finish

が - indicates sentence subject

やばい - dangerous

わ - indicates emotion, admiration or emphasis

おまえらに 教えることは もうない

I’m not going to teach you guys anymore!

おまえら - you guys

に - at, to, for, because, by, as

教える (おしえる) - to teach

こと - thing

は - topic marker particle

もう - now, soon

ない - not being
