What is the worst case of nepotism you've ever witnessed?

My current place of employment, actually.

The General Manager got the job because of a mutual friend, so he returned the favor and tried to hire one of his friends as a Front Office Manager, but the friend declined and said he wanted my GM to hire his girlfriend. Who had no experience in our industry.

So of course he did... He gave a job that requires minimum 5 years experience across the entire industry to someone with 0.

The trend continues though. Only people he (GM) likes get picked for employee of the quarter/year, despite it being a majority vote among management. He continues to show obvious favor to some employees over others, for instance, my friend and coworker is now the newest assistant office manager despite his grand total of 1.5 years of experience all within this hotel. I'm not mad at that though, he's a damn good worker and a he'll be a hell of a better manager than any of the fools we have currently. In comparison, I'm disliked by him because I tend to speak up, so during the last yearly revues I was offered a raise of 5 cents.
