What would people take more seriously if it had a different name?

I'll get shit about it, but I think satanism would be taken more seriously if it wasn't called satanism. I'm an atheist, so at the end of the day I don't really care what satanists call themselves and am not picking Christian's over satanists. All I'm saying is that the satanism name turns a lot of folks off immediately, even the non-religious.

Also, DOs. Doctor of osteopathic medicine. Those schools should, if given the opportunity, just switch over to MD. They learn the same stuff with the addition of some extra things like manipulative medicine. Fine. Make an extra set of initials if you want after MD. But in my opinion, they hurt themselves by not converting to MD.

I have DO friends. They're great doctors. I've known some very bad MDs. The letters don't define if you are or aren't a good doctor. But you miss some opportunities as a DO, get ranked lower by many residencies/fellowships by default, and occasionally have to deal with a patient who "just found out" you're a DO and not an MD. It is my understanding, according to my friend, that at least some DO schools had or have the opportunity to change to MD or give their graduates the option and, yet, refuse out of pride.
