What is your addiction?

Codeine.
I hurt my shoulder in August. I got prescribed codeine. I liked it.
I was going through a bit of a rough time, and I just took a handful in the evenings and ohhhhh it felt delicious!
My Dr doesn't give a shit and prescribes me a box of 100 any time I ask. No questions. Dr, my shoulder still hurts. Ok, here's 100 codeine tablets, see you next week!
I try not to get them too often though. In case he thinks I'm abusing them and cuts me off. So I often buy weak ones over the counter, or weaker DHC, and cold water extract them. I also buy codeine syrup, used as a cough medicine, it costs £2.30 a bottle and they contain 600mg codeine per bottle with no other active ingredients. Again, I dont buy them all the time in case they cut me off, I mix and match what I get, where I get it from. Online pharmacies are great too.
I normally just take 5 30mg pills each night, except weekends. Weekends I'll drink half a bottle of syrup, then about an hour and a half later the other half, then about an hour after that between 5 and 8 pills, and just float through the evening in my pyjamas watching movies on my laptop in bed.
I have children, so I don't take anything during the day, only once they are in bed, and not even every day, but most days if I'm honest. Their dad is around so if they wake there's not just me in charge. If he goes out I don't take anything. My childrens safety comes first.
But if their dad is here, they are fast asleep and it's gone 8pm, I'll head up to bed, pyjama up, handful of pills, mouthful of syrup, or a cwe, movie on my laptop and float through the evening on a cloud of bliss.
Once my movie is done I lie down in the dark and listen to podcasts on my phone through the earbuds. I'm also quite addicted to This American Life, the stores are reallyinteresting most of the time, Ira Glass voice is mesmerising, and the podcast is just long enough to listen to before falling asleep.
I always sleep really well and wake up feeling refreshed.
Phew, didn't mean to write so much, I've never admitted this to anyone, getting it out was cathartic, thank you.
I should probably quit but I don't really want to.
I will also say, times when I run out, and can't get to the Drs or the pharmacy, I can quite happily go without all week, I don't get any kind of withdrawal or desperation to have them, I just enjoy it so I continue.
