What is your best "..and so we never did that again" story?

We had always heard stories about cow tipping so we wanted to try this for ourselves. Only problem was that we didn't have any cows nearby, but we did have a farm that, for some reason, had buffalo (American bison). We thought how cool it would be to try to go buffalo tipping.

It was winter break after freshman year and everyone was home from school. Drinking age was still 18 so we had gone done to the local watering hole and, after many pitchers of beer, decided that tonight was the night that we would try it.

We drive a couple of towns over where the farm was. Snow was coming down so we thought we be pretty safe and nobody would hear us. We climb over the fences (6"x6" posts and 2" x 12" crosspieces) and try to find out where the buffalo were. we were so loud that the buffalo ended up hearing us and running away. Then, one of us got the brilliant idea that, if we joined hands, we could corral the buffalo into a corner of one of the corrals

We see a mother and calf and decide to "cut them out of the herd" . We spread out and join hands and then proceed to herd the mother and calf to a smaller part of the corral. The mother was pretty upset. She then turns and runs right.through.the.fence with her calf behind her.

Besides making a hell of a racket, this successfully sobered us up as we realized that she very easily could've come toward us instead of toward the fence.

At that point we decide to head back to the car. As we get closer we see a State Police car pulled up behind the car with the spotlight illuminating the car. One of our friends was trying to get into a service academy and couldn't risk getting arrested so he and another friend walked down a side road with the agreement that we would come by and pick them up.

We go up to the car, which was now covered by about 3" of snow, and the Statie asks us what we were doing. We told him we had to take a piss in the woods. He didn't say much and let us go. Congratulating ourselves on our luck, we book it out of there then doble back to try and find our friends. It took another hour to find them (this was waaay before cell phones) and they were frozen stiff and covered with snow.

We all made it home safely, after some other problems, but that was our "and so we never again tried buffalo tipping" story.
