I had GCS in 2008 in Thailand. I had a complication when I got home after 6 weeks that I ended up having to live with just due to the sorry state of American healthcare at the time and lack of funds to return to Thailand within a timely manner.

Aesthetically I'm told by doctors that treat trans that I have the best outcome they have ever seen. I have good sensation and can orgasm just fine, sometimes I can orgasm in a couple of different places. I haven't really had to dilate for years, things have mostly stayed the same. Depth is pretty good and that's never been an issue. I do have a thick ring of tissue around the vaginal opening that can get tight sometimes sorta like a hyman. Sometimes if it's been a while since I had a partner I'll have to do some stretching in that area.

Aside from the complication and the annoying issues it creates, nothing has really changed much in years. Even those annoying issues have been more manageable lately because thanks to actual fucking trans inclusive healthcare I was able to get some medications that fix most of my problems. It's really sad that something as simple as getting medications for issues that others can have with their default unaltered equipment wasn't an option for me for some bizarre reason. If there is anything that has changed over the years it's my frustration and tolerance level for medical bullshit related to being trans. I'm so glad there is so much more support now, when I had GCS I think you could probably count the number of surgeons who practiced that in the US with one hand, and they were all using techniques that were at least 50 years old. It's really surprising how much things have changed in so little time. I'm glad everything has become more accessible to people. I would have been spared so much grief I had the support structures that exist today back then.
