What is your pet's name and why did you name it that?

My first dog was called Ikaros after the dude in greek mythology that flew too close to the sun, he was a miniature pinscher with the confidence of a wolf and a severely skewed sense of his own size. My family dubbed him The bouncing piranha in his first year, he stopped jumping and nipping but man, he was tenacious.

After him there was Zeus, a mix between a great dane and a briard. He was huge, stoic, kind and powerful as all hell. Dumbest dog I ever met, but a sweetheart. He had to move last year because I got very very sick but damn, he is an amazing dog.

Late last year I got well enough to have a dog again but since Zeus now lives in a neighbouring country with an amazing family on their farm I didn't have the heart to take him back to my one bedroom appartment, he deserves to run free. So, now I have a little american staffordshire terrier whom I named Hera. She is only five months old but the nicest, calmest dog I've ever met. We shall see as she gets older how she grows into her name but you can already tell she will be a powerful and gentle beast.

My cats are called Mys, Mongo and Mina. Mys means cuddles in swedish and man, that cat will not leave you alone. If you touch him or make eye contact you are screwed, he has spent the last ten years forcefully cuddling anyone who is not aware of his shennanigans. Mongo is special, hence the name. He is a mix, got some norweigan forest cat, maine coon and other random breeds in him. He is big, about 20lbs without any excess fat, has fur that makes him look like a mad professor and he cannot jump, meow or land on his feet. He is also ten years old. Mina is the kitten, not yet a year and never had a tail, her dad is an american bobtail. She is pitch black, every inch of her, she sneaks around like a little vampire and is very fond of biting the other cats in the neck. So, she was named after Mina Harker in Dracula.
