Hi. I'm being a bit facetious. I know everything he wrote is full of crap.

I'm a highly educated African. Really, over-educated, you'll laugh you hearing. My entire family is equally over-educated. Every African I know in America is overly educated (doctors, engineers, programmers). Statistically, it's no secret that Africans are much more educated than the average American. By at least one study they're the most educated group in American surpassing the beloved model minority - Asians.

I've traveled to more countries than people have cities. I actually lived in many other countries. It's obvious that the different in outcomes between people are mostly environmental. Poor students in Africa who dn't have opportunity won't do well. Poor people in China who have tutors will do well. Same in America. It's really quite simpel. That there's so much controversy to this in America is puzzling.

Again, the research shows that Africans on a whole are far more intellectual than Americans. I've been raised to think like this since I was tiny and a large percentage of Africans in American think like this. Why? Because for the most part Africans in America were the most educated in their African country. Just like Asians in America, and Indians in America. I obviously don't think I'm genetically superior to Americans. Nor do I go around bragging about it. But I hope you felt uncomfortable reading the above. I hope if made you think "wow, this guy is a little to hot about himself." That exact same realization is why I posted this in a message instead of in a comment. Because that's what I feel every time people talk about Asians in contrast to blacks. Except done in a lot less demeaning way to blacks. Yet, I would never brag about my educational achievements on Reddit, because I know I'm really just bragging about winning the birth lottery.

I say it only in contrast to how many times you hear these "inconvenient" stats and comparisons with "model minority" asians. The actual model minority in fact blacks...from Africa. Not because of "culture" or "genetics" but because of the same reason why black americans have such poor outcomes. They (and most importantly their parents) had more resources than most people in their home country.

Me, my siblings, and every other Asian, & Indian have been getting tutored since we were barely out the womb. Of course we're going to do better academically. We look at Americans as developmentally handicapped since they didn't get as many resources as we did growing up. Just the same as poor people in our country, developmentally handicappped. And we look at rich Americans the same as us, developmentally boosted through resources - tutors, access to information, etc. Really, it's not that big of a secret.

Yet, when it comes to Asians. People acknowledge their success. When it comes to Indians, people acknowledge it. But, when it comes to Africans, none. They're just thrown in with the same mass of enslaved, jim crowed ancestors - who of course, have the worse outcomes in American society for the most obvious of reasons.

So, if you're still following. Every-time I hear the "model minority" argument - aka Asians are minorities, they're smart, most prove it's just something genetically wrong with blacks and not just the "treatment you get as a minority" I realize how deep seated racism against black in America is. Because actually the model minority are any minority who gets access to resources. Same with rich whites, blacks. But even if Africans do get access to the same resources, get access to the same education level, and etc, we're still treated with the same negative heuristics. As opposed to Asians.

Let's just say, since the age of 23 I've been highly educated that 94% of Americans. Yet, when I walk around I get treated welll... But Asians, for the most part get treated with positive heuristics (smarter, less violent). When really I'm in the same group as them (highly educated, international, highly educated parents, all my country-men as also highly educated). And then I get told, I can't blame it on my skin color, because look at Asians. Completely forgetting the reason I'm "successful" isn't because I"m a "smart black guy" but because I'm an African who was won the birthplace lottery.

• I think, wow. If only there was a counter part of highly educated foreigners who shared the same genetics as teh slave ancestors of jim crowed black americans, but had different environmental and educational background. We could compare to see if they really it is genetic. Well, this group exists...Africans. In America. But not only do we ignore this, we use Asians to say, ha! Asians can do it, blacks just most be deficient. So here, as an African, living proof that if black Americans had equal opportunities as they would be equally educated, etc, see people lump me up with black Americans. When instead I should be lumped with Asians and Indians. But no, having black skin in America means you're seen as a product of slaves. Which means that no matter how educated your particular demographic of black skinned indiviudals may be (Africans) you'll never get acknowledge for it. Asians will. Indians will. But no, black Americans are just bad because they're black. Not because of the obvious obvious terrible treatment of them that exists to the current day.
