What's the most awkward interaction you've had with a stranger?

I work at food Kiosk in a mall, so I see a lot of people going about their business, and they don't know I'm watching. One particularly slow afternoon, I was watching an interesting couple sitting at a Starbucks.

Right of the bat I knew they were going to be interesting. The guy had long greasy hair, had a scantily clad anime shirt on, and looked like he hadn't bathed in days. Basically a typical gaming store customer. However, his girlfriend looked rather normal. Still nerdy, mind you, but could be socially accepted.

So, as I wiped the same spot on our counter, I couldn't tear my eyes away from them because of their bizzare PDA. Things started with handholding and quickly progressed from there. In an uncomfortable crescendo, they guy kept reaching his hand farther and farther up her leg (Keep in mind she had about a knee-length skirt on).

After what seemed like several minutes, he finally reached the point of no return. I was getting scared that I may have to get security to break it up or something. However, he made a grave mistake.

He leaned forward whispered something, and her entire mood shifted. In an instant she bolted up and stormed away, leaving him in a pool of self loathing and sadness.

At this point he looked up and we made eye contact. I was flabbergasted and I'm sure was standing there dumbfounded with a gaping mouth. He simply shrugged his shoulders and made a grave face. He then wandered over, looked at our menu for a couple of seconds, then walked off towards the direction of his lost lady.

While there wasn't a large amount of interaction, this horrible moment has stuck with me forever.
