What's the most radical opinion you have?

Not every capitalist solution is the best solution, and not every socialist solution is the worst solution. I don't see myself lacking in freedom if we were to have some sort of healthcare system that isn't fully capitalist, if we were to have a single-payer system, I won't have a trouble with that. If people didn't have to worry about paying for that procedure or pay their kids' medical bill, maybe they would have more money to spend in the economy. Paying a bit more money for the knowledge I don't have to be anxious all the time about my medical bills is worth it. I'll be happy to pay 5% more taxes in order to have this for myself and others in the country.

A lot of my fellow conservatives forget the implicit agreement everyone has in a society, we all chip in so that certain things go smoothly, we all pay for the government to defend us. I really don't see why healthcare, something so vital and so important should be left to the whims of the market. We can have our cake and eat it too, single payer system doesn't necessarily mean "socializing" medicine, we can have the government negotiate and pay on our behalf, and we can still have the private hospitals and private care providers. Other countries in the world achieved this, and our stubbornness approach on this matter is seriously disheartening. I know the federal government is not always efficient, and there will always be waste and corruption, but that is still a better alternative to how cruel the laisser-faire alternative.
