What's the most stupid mistake you've ever made that led you to be fired from your job?

Oh my god I'm so embarrassed. I was just a kid. Well early 20s, new to the work environment and keen to make a good impression and be liked.

I knew my employers were readvertising the casual positions (I was a casual) and I was so curious about who they were shortlisting as my competition so I did something stupid. I downloaded a copy of all the applicants resumes from the shared driver. Of course someone walked in as I was doing it and I looked shady af. Next thing, a guy from IT was called to 'have a look at a problem on my work pc' - the one I had used to perform said copying.

Needless to say, I was not rehired. They never mentioned me copying the resumes, and nor did I, so I don't know for sure that they knew, but well, you know. I'm mortified at my self.
