Whats a serious event in the world that few people know about?

I was extrapolating from the GDP and HDI above .7 for the American states it flows through. Almost half or your 40% of American jobs, cities, consumption rely on it. The Hoover dam alone powers half of Las Vegas. Rolling brownouts aren't really a thing Vegas can do. It will look like Centralia without Lake Mead. Not just America, It used to be a significant source of Mexican agriculture also.

We are learning how drastically thin our supply chains and logistics are. Guess how much worse they'll be when wild fires can't be put out. When California wild fires burn so constantly Santa anna winds are only exacerbate it.

The dustbowl effects of last century will pale in comparison. We are only now seeing the weak points.

Sorry I don't have the stats in my back pocket, but think of how complicated things are going to get when all ports south of Seattle can't ship.
