What's a video game genre you just can't get into?

The problem I have was that I have played MMOs since their inception. And at first, they were great! A place where I could band together with my friends, and with a whole bunch of other people and do things? This is awesome.

The problem is, not everyone plays the game the same. You get plenty of hard core players. They play as much as possible. And they blow through content so fast. And then you have the more casual players. Usually people with families and obligations who cant put in tons of time.

And you really cant balance the two. If you keep doing updates, casual players are going to feel like they are so far behind they don't want to bother playing. And hardcore players will never be happy, because they are just fiending for the next update to come out so that they can finish it up immediately.

And in the end, all MMOs turn into a gear, stat, mat or currency grind. If you are going to be on top, you are always looking for that better gear.
