While I certainly agree with you on some parts, I just feel that a few things might need clarification...

[Spoiler](/s "Where you fast forward 20 years later after River and Johnny get married, you mention how his wish was never granted, but that wish only existed because Johnny and River were separated again by her death. That dream only became a dream once she died, before then it had no purpose. They were together. It's important to note that Johnny didn't even understand why he wanted to go the Moon, he just had that feeling it was very important to him, and he could never explain why.

You then mention how a scientist 're-put' River into the memory; they didn't put her there at all, that was the natural course the altered memories took. When they altered the events throughout Johnny's life they never deleted that initial meeting when they were children. They still had the promise to each other that they would reunite on the moon together. You witness all the events through his life where Johnny would meet River and have a chance to reconnect, but they "move" her to another location, until such a time that Johnny is too distracted with other things (his brother's career, his own education) that we don't see all the little moments they would have shared.

Eventually, we meet River again at NASA where they have both trained for the same purpose, to go to the moon. Because despite it being Johnny's memory they still both possess that drive to reunite on the moon. It's even stated by one of the scientists that it was a gamble that paid off, because they believed in River's determination as much as Johnny's.

I'm not writing this to come across as a douche or anything, I'm just trying to clarify a couple of points because I believe they're pretty critical to the story, and that the strength of their bond brings them together when almost everything is artificially created to keep them apart. To the Moon is a beautiful story.")
