What's the worst nightmare you remember from your childhood?

When I was a kid, I lived in the middle of nowhere and would only go into the city once a month at the most. The city was always filled with colorful characters, but one of them was an elderly cross dresser who used to hang out on "the main drag". I saw him/her on a bunch of occasions and it was the beginning of being uncomfortable about any form of "being fooled" by appearances. I have nothing against anybody on the LGBT spectrum, but have always found it very unsettling to look at a woman and see that it is really a man (or vice versa).

I rarely dream (maybe 6 remembered dreams a year), and I rarely have nightmares (1 out of 6 of those remembered dreams). This night I was jacked for the fair to come to town (same city where the elderly cross dress lived).

I was about 9 years old as I slept, and in my dream. I was dreaming that my cousin and I were having fun at the fair. I eventually noticed a dark shape behind me wherever I went. I turned around to see what it was. It was this old man dressed as a woman and smiling at me. Without thinking, I took off as fast as I could...separating me from my cousin for the rest of the dream. I just run around this brightly lit/confusing fair...nobody helps me....I run as fast as I can, but the casually-walking old man is always gaining ground.

Finally I run straight for The Zipper (one of 2 rides at the fair that scared me). I get into the ride and the carny shuts the caged door quickly as I do and latches me in. As I look to my left, I am staring into the smiling face of the old lady/man.
