When I was about 11, I used to go to this outdoor centre thing with my friend. Occasionally the adults would round up all the kids (aged anywhere from 10-16 iirc) and play games like tag.

Once we were playing some game that included being split into two teams and my team was being hunted by the other. We were discussing tactics and someone mentioned that the other group was coming so I said “oh shoot”. An adult nearby misheard me and assumed I swore.

Cue like, an hour of me trying to convince them that I didn’t swear, them not believing me, me getting into trouble and crying, etc. My parents believed me when I got home but I’d never gotten into trouble there before and I was terrified. I never trusted that adult again lmao.
