What's your mental model for your golf swing?

Ever throw a baseball? Or ride a bike? I mean dont make it too difficult. You know how to do it. Youve done it many times before.

Making changes takes a long time to make the new change feel natural. It will feel weird for a long time. You have to have patience or forget it. So many people try out a new move for 2 weeks and quit.

My swing thought is tempo. And that is all because i know the rest. How do i know. Because i regualry shoot in the 70s. So do i really need to fix this and that. No. If the ball is going where i want generally and im catiching it clean then all i need to focus on is making a controlled swing. The rest will happen naturally.

Go back to square one. Even if its wrong. Go back to the range the next time and just grab the club and try to hit the ball. Dont even think of a single thing in your mind. Seriously. Just get up and hit it. Once warmed up. Start to figure out one at a time why youre missing the ball or target or whatever it is. Use film if you have to.

Then only work on ONE thing at a time until it feels natural. Even if you dont have success at first. But you have to be careful because you may be changing something hat doesnt need to be changed. Whether its because you think you have to swing and look like a pro or whatever. Get with a good PRO who isnt going to change your swing much. There are many many ways to get the job done.

You are most likely overthinking the entire process. Thats why you need to get back to barebones roots of your natural move. Once you et back to swinging naturally or effortlessly, then build it up again. That awkward feeling is because youre going against your natural action and its going to always feel weird. But thats what has to happen if you really want a change.

You just have to commit yourself to fight thought the awkwardness until it becomes automatic. If will if you give it time.

But i really suggest you start over and find your natural move again. Then go from there.
