PNW Golf

I think so … especially if you can get off season pricing. It isn’t out in the open like North Bellingham. The front nine are fairly flat and straightforward by Lake Whatcom - very pleasant and not difficult. The back nine are in the woods, hilly and much more of an adventure. The 15th hole goes down a very very steep hill that I thought “oh this is where I die in a golf cart related accident” and then turns and goes alongside a two lane road, so not my personal favorite - but hey … whatever. And the Mexican Restaurant in the Clubhouse is family owned and just you know - fun to have drinks and food at the end. So, it wouldn’t be your worst day golfing.

If you want something more difficult, insanely pretty with a bit fancier food at the end - do Shukshan. If you get a sunny day … oooof. Amazeballs. Overall, for golf - I would rate Shukshan over Sudden Valley.

Another one everyone likes is Lake Padden. It’s narrow fairways surround by trees. So many, many tall trees. Just a cafe type food at the end. If you go to Padden give yourself time to check out the Lake and the Park that is there - but not on course grounds. If it is hot - bring a swimsuit and jump in! Then skip the cafe and head into Fairhaven for something to eat. It isn’t far from course.
