Hey there!

Just wanted to clarify a few things you pointed out: There are some key differences between the homelessness issue in the United States versus the intake of Syrian refugees. First, depending on the community the refugees are being settled into, they are required to begin repaying the flight tickets, apartment/home, groceries, and everything that the resettlement agency provides within about 3-6 months of moving. Second, granting Syrians asylum within the United States is about offering safety and security. Syrians are not fleeing because of poverty, they flee because they are not safe.

And lastly, I want to believe that we have enough people in this world (and especially here in the states) to work toward the issue of homelessness in the U.S. and the Syrian refugee crisis. It shouldn't have to be an either/or situation.
