“Golf is 90% mental and 10% physical” We hear it all the time, so what’s the worst state your mental game has been at?

Recently had a lesson where the pro had me adjust to a neutral grip, significantly wider base, and then wanted me to quiet my front foot and actually finish my swing. He said it looked like I was trying to push and sweep the ball instead of swing through it.

It was way too much for me to think about and my next few range sessions were dog shit. Absolutely embarrassing, and I could barely make contact. Previously, I was having good, long, consistent contact. My complaint was diminishing returns on long irons.

Ended up concentrating on just the grip, stance, and making solid contact until that was comfortable. Then I worked on quieting my base and the swing is feeling better than it did originally.
