I had my first crush in 3rd grade, and when I look back at it now, it was actually pretty stupid. There were these two twin girls who attended my school that really no one could tell apart, except me. One of the girls, let's call her Sarah, had the cutest little freckle on her ear so I could always remember her. Sarah and I first met in 1st grade when I transferred to this school. I didn't really talk to her until nearly two years later because of you know "cooties" and everything. 3rd grade was when we started really talking to each other, or what I guess I would call flirting now. We always talked about grades for whatever reason, and I remember intentionally failing a test just to see her cute face when she was bragging lol. One day I noticed that both of the twins started talking to someone named Mike who would become one of my best friends in middle school (You could say Mike was handsome; even in elementary school). I got so jealous that I nearly pushed Mike off the monkey bars (in middle school I really wished I did because Mike started dating the girl I liked, but that's a story for another time). It turned out that the other twin, named Allie, liked Mike, so Sarah was only helping Allie get Mike! I still had my chance with Sarah! I thought to myself that I had to act fast. I knew the perfect option! I would buy her a Ring Pop! I was so excited; I knew she would love it. I could put it on her finger and everything (At the time I did not know that rings essentially signify a proposal lol). I remember running outside at recess only to find Sarah kissing this other boy named Chris....... I was so heartbroken. I ended up transferring schools. tl;dr Almost married a 7 year old who would have cheated on me anyways
