When/if we ever win a WS again, will all this nonsense make it that much better?

And what’s the right thing to do as a parent? My kids are shot. They’re already in. But is there any rational and decent argument for pushing your kids in another direction if you’re a fan of a team like the Mets? Or is the shared emotion, either good or bad worth it regardless? I believe in the latter of the two but I wonder sometimes.

Oh for Christ's sake with this melodrama already.

It's a sports team. Watch it or don't watch it. Watch it with your kids or let them take up a musical instrument or play soccer.

Anything but this fake dramatic angst from the fans day in and day out. Being tied to this memeing as a fan is so much worse and more embarrassing than the Mets getting swept or having the manager yell at a reporter.

Kids don't share this overwrought, self-defeating attitude that adults foist on them. When you go to one of those Camp Days and it's all kids, there's energetic Let's Go Mets! chants ringing throughout the stadium. The less they pay attention to the doughy, angry guy two rows behind them, cursing their parents for giving them Mets DNA and whining about Bobby Bonilla's contract, the better.

Yeah, Vargas and Callaway probably overreacted today but at least they showed some spine. The fans should too.
