I would say "a place with a homeless problem where there is some poop in the street".

I would not describe SF as that. Some neighborhoods, maybe. The city as a whole, absolutely not.
Also, this is a pretty common argument going around in right wing circles. I have seen it many many times. San Francisco is a city with very educated people, one of the lowest unemployment rates in the US, and high paying salaries. It is also known as a liberal bastion.
So many people on the right latch onto this idea that because there is a problem with poop in the street, it is a terrible city. Yes, it is a problem. Every city has its problems. That's reality. Some are worse than others.
Also, it isn't statistics. Like I said, I live in the city. I have send poop in the streets in Tenderloin yes. I don't spend a ton of time there (usually just when I do my volunteer work). The rest of the city is actually pretty nice and clean.
