Who else NEET here?

I would rather not work though.

You and me both mate, think I enjoy making coffee after coffee after coffee 6 days a week? If money grew on trees I don't think many of us would work. But it doesn't, so we have to. It's a harsh reality and it always astonishes me when people don't seem to get it - Want money? Want to do more than simply survive? Got to work.

I would rather not work though. Since I've never had a job, never done work experience, and have no qualifications

You aren't too old to get them. My mum is 51 and she's just finishing her degree. Look into it - I know a few people who started off doing general labouring work and now their doing fairly well in skilled construction jobs. Not an easy job but from my experience it's surprisingly stratifying and money can be made.

I don't think anyone would hire me anyway.

Easy to fall into that school of thought. It doesn't matter how much experience or how many qualifications you have, you will always worry that no one will take you on. Fact is, it's almost a certainty that you CAN find work somewhere. It might not be presented to you on a plate, and it might not come after a day of looking and it's easy to become demoralised. But there is work out there, even in tough times!

Granted my job is a summer job and most of our staff are very young, but most of them don't have experience or qualifications either and trust me, hospitality work would much rather take an 29 year old who can commit despite being lacking in experience over a 15 year old who might just leave on a whim. I've gone from part time minimum wage to assistant manger working plenty of hours (though I am lucky in that I can generally pick my own hours) and a very fair wage for the work I do.

I wouldn't mind living in a hostel and eating baked beans from the food bank every day so long as I don't have to work.

I get the feeling you are a troll but if not, this would become exceedingly shit very quickly. And even if you are, maybe my reply will build some moral in someone else who is genuinely in a pickle.
