Who’s the shittiest boss you’ve ever had at a job?

I was working at a convenience store when I was a teenager. We had like 6 people working there, two of whom were women close to retirement. During an evening shift there was normally 2 people working.

So, to start with, the boss, let's call her B for, you know, reasons, was hired as a maternity leave replacement. As soon as B started, she hired her friend and essentially told everyone that B's friend is second in charge, even though there was not enough budget to hire her.

And soon we all realized what her plan was: she wanted to fire the old ladies and hire her friends as replacement. B started to write the old ladies up for everything whenever she had the chance, such as when she made a to-do list that absolutely had to be completed in the evening and it had so many things on it, clean the floors, windows, stock until the storage room is empty, do this, do that etc. Normally there weren't that many customers in the evening, but this one time we were swamped with costumers and could not finish the to-do list, so B gave a written warning for not completing the list, even though the sales numbers backed our story up. This same thing continued day in day out and all of us hated working with her.

So here where I live all the employees who have worked enough over the past year have four weeks of paid holiday time in the summer and with the old boss we could request when we'd like to keep them. B absolutely had none of that, she chose when she'd keep her vacation, asked when her friend would keep hers, and just mixed our vacations up randomly and posted them on the wall in the break room. No one could say anything to her so we just swallowed our hatred and took the cards we were dealt.

Summer was just around the corner, B got pissed for whatever reason and suddenly all our holiday times are changed. All of us were so confused and angry, because how could she do that? All of us had made plans already. B started telling everyone that those holiday times were preliminary, as was written on the paper, and she had the right to change them. Luckily B didn't know, but I had taken photos of the holiday paper and as you probably guessed, no, there wasn't any mention of the holiday times being preliminary. So we called our union and explained everything and B got so mad when she was forced to change the holiday times back, things got so much worse in the workplace, for example she forbade taking your phone in the break room! Taking photos in the break room was double forbidden.

Thank goodness I got a new job quickly after that. I left and didn't look back.
