WIBTA if I left my son at home while the rest of the family went on vacation?

Yep. My parents did this wth me once with a trip to a theme park when I was 9 with the extended family. I was always being compared to my 2 cousins who are "so well behaved" (turns out the reason for that was my uncle was an abusive prick who would basically beat them if they were not angels) and it just reinforced the feelings I had at the time that my parents hated that they were "stuck" with me and would gave preferred my female cousin be their daughter.

Turned out I had undiagnosed ADHD. That's why I had issues with my behaviour. But in the mid 1990s, ADHD was under-diagnosed because my signs were not the same as boys with ADHD. Back then, ADHD was the thing "naughty boys" had.

I am now getting treatment for my ADHD and I get along well with my parents. I have forgiven them. But I am turning 33 this month and I still have never forgotten that trip in 1995 and how it made me feel.
