Win More Games - 6.2k MMR Guide to Macro Level Decision Making Part 1

Classically speaking, there is no "real" Macro in Dota2. Micro and Macro where mostly used in RTSs like Wc3, Starcraft, etc. Micro usually means how well you are using a single unit/how well you would do with your army in a fight against the enemy army, meaning for example you pull a unit that is about to die back. Micro in Dota is required when you play heroes that control more than one unit.

Macro on the other hand was how well you were handling the game alltogether, meaning mainly how well you were able to manage your economy while doing important stuff with your army, eg keeping worker production going, teching, researching upgrades etc. An example for Macro in Dota2 would be if you were splitpushing with your AM and you realize there's a low T1 tower about to get pushed down so you activate glyph while at the same time continuing to splitpush. This is hardly comparable to the macro skills you would need in an RTS though so from my point of view you cant really speak of macro in Dota2.
