Witness describes chasing down Texas shooting suspect

Estimates put defensive gun use in the US from anywhere of a extremely conservative number of 30,000 to upwards up 3,000,000.

Yes, some of those people will use whatever they can get their hands on to do it. I'd just rather that thing wasn't a gun

I do to.

But that doesn't change the fact that other things than guns exist and the best items for defense against them is a gun.

If you were a single mother, holding your baby, what would you rather have to defend yourself against a guy with a knife?

A knife, a bat, or a gun?

If you answer anything other than a gun, then something is wrong.

Guns are not for just protecting yourself from others with a gun, it's for protecting yourself full stop. Whether the attacker has a gun, a knife, a bat, hammer, or just their barehands.

A gun is the great equalizer of the world.

It is what allowed this single mother to fend off two men armed with knives. I will never support taking her gun unless she proves herself a danger to society.
