[Wojnarowski] As the Orlando Magic move into a full rebuilding process, coach Steve Clifford and the franchise have agreed together to a parting, sources tell ESPN.

That’s a situation where the front office dug themselves a hole by keeping Alvin there a year too long. Gentry is a total players coach, he doesn’t get on guys really and from what I remember reading their wasn’t much accountability the last year he was there. Compared to SVG who we know is somewhat of a pain in the ass and stickler especially about defense no shit they aren’t happy.

If New Orleans fires him after this limited amount of time with a roster as lacking in certain areas as it is I hope they get good ass replacement cause SVG is definitely better than an average hire and if they can’t handle playing for him then I don’t see a ton of post seasons success in their future.

Some of it might be personality and maybe I’m reading too much into media articles but it really seems like the issues for me aren’t with Stan. When I’m reading quotes like ”One of our problems is our guys will beat themselves up about missing shots, missing free throws, all of that, but the defensive stuff just doesn’t get to them in the same way,” Van Gundy said. ”It doesn’t bother them that we gave up 128 points tonight. … I’m not sure individual players are holding themselves accountable for the right things.” for a team that’s supposed to be young and hungry for success (LA guys to prove Lakers wrong to trade them, Zion to establish himself as a superstar) it doesn’t bode well imo. Doesn’t help having Eric Bledsoe showing up being dogshit for the year giving extra attitude saying shit like he’s not listening in the huddle (which idk why they wouldn’t allow him to bench his ass permanently, it’s Eric Bledsoe a huge net negative and known locker room issue anytime he wasn’t winning).

My point is most of their core players don’t know shit about what a good coach looks like, especially the Lakers guys. If there’s acrimony in the locker room because SVG is trying to hold them accountable that really is a bad look going forward.
